PROGRAM
Since working on my first camp staff in 1985, I have had the opportunity to work at every level of camp and council program. I have served as a camp program director, trek director, and camp director. As a member of the Council Staff, I have extensive experience with district and council events from camporees to recognition dinners. When I served as Program Director in Utica NY, I managed as many as three summer camps and a high adventure program. Some highlights of my program experiences include:
-
Currently working with staff and volunteers to improve program and properties by maintaining six Scout camps with over 4000 acres and an annual budget of $2,300,000 serving over 18,360 youth each year.
-
Able to collaborate with volunteers and Scouts to develop new and innovative camp programs such as:
Scouts at Work Camp - Potomac
Squatch Camp - Seph Mack
Cowboy Action Shooting — Henderson
Welding program and Auto Mechanics Program — Henderson
Ga-GA Ball Pit and Human Foosball—Camp Kingsley
-
I was the staff advisor that helped develop Blizzard Camp, a summer camp like experience set in the winter that draws over 100 campers each of the last three years. (Featured in Boy’s Life Magazine)
-
In the Leatherstocking Council, I managed over 2.5 million dollars in capital improvements over 4 years including the new dinning hall at Henderson Scout Reservation and the new shower/bathroom facilities at Camp Kingsley. Other projects include the new climbing tower, winterized restrooms and showers at Camp Kingsley, securing a grant for a utility vehicle for emergency use, and additional winter housing at both camps.

A Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow, I have served as Lodge Advisor to several lodges. During my tenure, I have twice managed lodge mergers. I also served as Staff Advisor for Section NE-3B.
